SRBIJAFEST-Promotion of the rural potentials
of Serbia will be held from 20th to 22nd June 2008
(GENEX IMPULSE HALL and Hotel CONTINENTAL Belgrade)
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
SRBIJAFEST project
- The promotion of rural potentials of Serbia involves the
realization of a number of programme units: investment, educational,
informative, exhibitional and cultural, which share the same
goal: investing in rural areas of Serbia, bridging the gap
in economic and social standards between urban and rural areas,
improving the quality of life of rural population and ultimately
giving rural areas the importance they deserve with regard
to social, economic and cultural life as well as permanently
rescuing rural areas from social oblivion.
The aim of SRBIJAFEST
is to draw attention of investors from both our country and
abroad to the richness and diversity of the potentials of
rural areas which comprise 85 % of Serbia's territory and
55 % of the population. This can be done by stimulating local
initiatives in villages with the participation of local, municipal,
regional and national institutions, through partnerships between
public, private and NGO sector and by collecting and mapping
the potentials of rural Serbia.
By including all interested groups - from local initiative
in villages through municipal and regional institutions to
government and international institutions, funds and companies,
all bearers of good projects will be encouraged to explain
and present their ideas whether they are about village tourism,
organic food production, the development of traditional crafts
or treasuring traditional cultural values.
